How do we Certify products through testing?

The FODMAP Friendly Program independently tests foods and food products through NATA approved food laboratories. The Australian approved laboratory is DTS Food Laboratories – who are the largest food testing facility in Australia. DTS provide analytical and testing services to businesses across Australia and New Zealand, ensuring food and beverage products are safe for distribution across the Asia Pacific region. DTS house a team of 400 staff, who are located at six state of the art facilities located in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

Food manufacturers must earn the right to use the FODMAP Friendly logo. This means it is only applied to products that meet strict testing criteria. Each product is analysed independently and adheres to research bases guidelines.

Every single product is rigorously analysed, and must meet strict standards. All products must meet the criteria prior to obtaining licensing approval of the FODMAP Friendly logo. The FODMAP Friendly Logo is only used on Approved Products.Food manufacturers are encouraged to develop new and reformulate existing food products in order to meet the consumer demands for FODMAP Friendly foods. Should a product fail to meet the laboratory testing standards, it will not be eligible to use the FODMAP friendly logo.

Consumers can be confident about the use of the logo on products. Not only is each product tested to initially determine if it qualifies, every product with the FODMAP Friendly logo can also be randomly audited at any time. These audits are essential to ensure approved products continue to meet the criteria to retain the logo.
