Q & A with Cobram Estate!

Over the years we have had the pleasure of working alongside some truly passionate people, who were inspired to create delicious products for the many FODMAP Friendly eaters worldwide.

We decided to sit down one on one with each of our Certified manufacturers, and allow you to learn a little more about the people behind the brands you love!

Tell us about the origins of Cobram Estate?

Established in 1998, Cobram Estate is the leading provider of olive oil in Australia, and a leader in Australian Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO). The brand was launched domestically in 2001, distributing through premium stockists including The Essential Ingredient in Melbourne and Sydney, and Black Pearl Epicure in Brisbane. In 2002, Cobram Estate entered the national retail market, listing its Fresh and Fruity EVOO in Coles and Woolworths Stores. It was the first 100 per cent Australian EVOO brand to take this step.

Why did you decide to include a FODMAP Friendly range into your line of oils?

There’s been growth in Australian’s finding food intolerances and allergies. Garlic and onion and common ingredients used in everyday cooking. By certifying our products, this provides consumers the ability to enjoy these flavours back into their cooking.

How has the FODMAP Friendly Certification Program helped grow your business?

We’ve had feedback from consumers they enjoy our infused products as it enables to them to add back in the special taste of garlic/onion into their next meal.

What is the best feedback you have received from customers about the Garlic and Onion Infused Cobram Estate range?

One of our consumers told us her husband was extremely grateful he can now enjoy again the taste of garlic and onion in their favourite spaghetti bolognese.
