Low FODMAP Sweet & Sour Pork Recipe | FODMAP Friendly Recipe Of The Week

Sweet and sour pork is a staple dish at any Chinese restaurant! We’ve tweaked the traditional recipe so that it is suitable for those following the low FODMAP diet too. Using low FODMAP fruits and vegetables like capsicum, carrot, green beans and pineapple gives this a colourful rainbow look, whilst remaining low in FODMAPs. This recipe features Bay’s Kitchen’s FODMAP Friendly Certified Sweet & Sour Stir-In Sauce. This sauce has the perfect balance of sweet and sour flavours, making this recipe extremely quick and easy to make. If you’re ever short of time and craving the Asian flavours of sweet and sour sauce, whip out this Bay’s Kitchen sauce from your pantry! You’ll have dinner ready in less than 30 minutes. If pork isn’t your cup of tea, swap our the pork for chicken, or tofu if you’re wanting a vegetarian or vegan option. Cook Time: 15 mins

Serves: 4 (where 1 serve is low FODMAP)

 

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 Jar of Bay’s Kitchen Sweet & Sour Stir-In Sauce
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1cm piece ginger, thinly chopped
  • 500g pork, diced
  • 1 cup green beans, chopped
  • 1 cup carrots, thinly sliced
  • 1 red capsicum, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1 (400g) tin pineapple pieces (no juice)
  • Steamed jasmine rice, to serve
  • Coriander, to serve

METHOD

1. Heat oil in a large wok, stir fry ginger and pork pieces until lightly brown.

2. Add green beans, carrots, capsicum and jar of Bay’s Kitchen Sweet & Sour Stir-In Sauce to wok and heat until vegetables soften and sauce begins to simmer.

3. Add pineapple to the wok and stir in for 1 minute.

4. Serve with rice and garnish with coriander.
