How did your company begin?

NBI is a wholly Australian-owned business. We were established in 2008 after identifying a need to address our nation’s growing health issues that resulted from the consumption of processed food, with a particular focus on salt, sugar and fat.

 

What is the inspiration behind your range?

At NBI, we put your health and wellness first. We’ve researched, experimented, tried and tested a range of everyday food and health products you can use that will benefit your health. It’s that simple. For example, our Type 2 protein sweetener enables Diabetics to enjoy the sweeter side of life without having to sacrifice their health for it.

We are innovators in the biotechnology industry and have created a range of health and nutrition products that deliver benefits we all need.

Why did you create your particular certified products?

Most sweeteners (Artificial as well as Natural) contain Polyols which are considered high FODMAP. This can have a bloating or laxative effect in almost 35% of the Australian population when consumed excessively. TYPE 2™ Protein Sweetener and SWEET & GENTLE™ are FODMAP friendly sweeteners which have none of those undesirable effects. They contains no sugar alcohols (polyols) and are 80% dietary fibre which has it’s own health promoting benefits. Now you can continue to enjoy the sweeter side of life and not worry about the consequences.

Why did you want to certify your products?

35 percent of Australian consumers have an intolerance towards ingredients high in FODMAPs. Consumers are specifically looking for low FODMAP products.
