Trusted Recommendations for Healthcare Professionals

Validated for Patient Safety

We prioritise the integrity of our certification process to ensure health care professionals trust and safety. Each FODMAP Friendly product is assessed by FODMAP-trained dietitians before undergoing rigorous testing at an independent, NATA-accredited laboratory, one of Australia’s largest food testing facilities. Test results are measured against the scientifically established FODMAP thresholds that were developed by our co-founder, Dr Sue Shepherd, one of the team of researchers of the low FODMAP diet at Monash University. To maintain compliance, products are re-tested periodically, ensuring continued safety and reliability for consumers.

Things to consider when recommending non-certified products

We know that not all products on the market can be certified, and as a highly informed, evidence-based practitioner, you are able to differentiate suitable products for your patients. When you do, consider these factors that can impact the FODMAP content, even if they appear suitable:

  • Ingredient Purity
  • Processing Methods
  • FODMAP Stacking

How This Helps Patient Adherence

FODMAP Friendly certified products provide tangible support for your patients throughout their entire low FODMAP journey, fostering adherence and confidence.

A bunch of fresh chives tied with string lies next to a small pile of finely chopped chives on a wooden chopping board, making them a flavourful choice for those following a Low FODMAP diet to support digestive health.

Simplify the First Step

In the beginning, patients can often become confused and stressed by the diet’s complexity. The FODMAP Friendly logo acts as a beacon for easy decision-making, and reducing anxiety when grocery shopping.

A whole garlic bulb sits on a brown fabric surface next to two peeled garlic cloves, one with papery skin still attached—a reminder to those following a Low FODMAP Diet that garlic-infused oil may be a flavourful alternative.

Support Structured Reintroduction

To ensure accurate results in the reintroduction phase, it is crucial to maintain a strict low FODMAP diet as a baseline. Using certified products provides reassurance that your patients are consistently adhering to this baseline while systematically testing different FODMAP groups.

Two slices of toasted bread topped with olive oil, chopped herbs, and pepper rest on greaseproof paper—a simple snack perfect for those following a Low FODMAP diet to support digestive health. A bottle of olive oil and plain bread appear in the background.

Empower Long-Term Dietary Confidence

Once patients have identified their individual triggers and tolerance levels, certified products serve as reliable go-to options during a flare-up or to help minimise symptoms when they choose to consume their trigger foods, fostering self-management and long-term confidence.
