Trusted Low FODMAP Certification & Gut Health Experts
People walk and gather on the sloped, modern roof of a building at sunset, with sunlight casting warm hues. In the background, contemporary office buildings with many windows rise—a scene reminiscent of spaces designed by Gut Health Experts.

Leading the Way in Digestive Health Innovation

Founded in 2012 in Melbourne, Australia, FODMAP Friendly was the world’s first low FODMAP food certification. We were established in collaboration with Dr. Sue Shepherd, one of the original researchers of the low FODMAP diet at Monash University.

Our certification program is built on a foundation of scientific integrity. We rigorously test and evaluate food products for their FODMAP content at independent, NATA-accredited laboratories. This ensures our certification is a symbol of trust for consumers, a reliable tool for clinicians, and a valuable asset for businesses.

How We Make a Difference

Our tagline, “Eat with Confidence,” is our promise to you. It embodies our commitment to empowering individuals to trust the food they eat; a commitment built on the four pillars that drive our mission forward.

Certification

We take the guesswork out of food choices.
FODMAP Friendly independently tests and certifies branded food products to ensure they meet the requirements for the low FODMAP diet. Certified products display the easily recognised FODMAP Friendly logo, empowering you to identify suitable foods quickly and Eat with Confidence.

Ingredient Testing

Evidence you can trust, freely accessible.
We lab-test individual, non-branded foods and publish the results within the Food List on our app, free for all users. FODMAP levels are shown as a percentage of the suitable serving threshold, allowing for informed, flexible choices.
Our Recipe Maker tool takes this further by helping users check if homemade meals meet low FODMAP criteria, promoting dietary variety and confidence.

Education

Supporting professionals with world-class, science-based learning.
Through partnerships with dietitians, universities, and global experts, we share up-to-date information on IBS and the low FODMAP diet. Our collaboration with the University of Michigan led to the creation of the GI Institute, a global education platform for healthcare professionals seeking to advance their expertise in gastrointestinal health.

Awareness

Shining a light on the world’s most common gastrointestinal disorder.
While celiac disease affects around 1% of the population, IBS impacts up to 15% globally. FODMAP Friendly is committed to raising awareness through free, accessible resources, including blogs, articles, guides, recipes, and tools available via our app and website.

Our Team

At the heart of FODMAP Friendly is a passionate team of accredited dietitians and healthcare professionals who are dedicated to improving digestive health outcomes. Their clinical expertise ensures that all our resources, tools, and programs are grounded in current, evidence-based practice. This team plays a vital role in guiding our certification processes, contributing to educational content, and supporting our global mission to make the low FODMAP diet more accessible and effective for all.

Our Partners

Our strength lies in our collaborations. We work with leading universities, dietitians, gastroenterologists, and IBS experts to share vital information. Our partnership with the University of Michigan led to the development of the GI Institute, an online training platform for healthcare professionals. We are dedicated to providing the same level of authority and trust associated with leading institutions by consistently highlighting our scientific basis and lab-tested data.
