Ardmona is a well-known Australian tomato brand which has been supplying canned tomatoes for over 50 years.

What is the inspiration behind Ardmona?
Ardmona is part of SPC Global who have been operating in Australia for over 100 years. SPC has traditionally supplied a range of tinned fruit, juices, baked beans and spaghetti to Australian households. Similarly, they have been harvesting tomatoes for over 50 years – since 1973 under the Ardmona brand.
Ardmona has supplied canned tomatoes to retail and foodservice but now has ambitions to expand into other categories whilst maintaining their core commitment to Australian grown produce.
For their Pasta Sauce launch, they aimed to have a clean ingredient list and use as many fresh ingredients as possible. In their assessment of the pasta sauce category, they were looking for ways to appeal to a broad array of consumers.
Their detailed consumer research identified that customers all like to cook their pasta sauce differently and one common theme was people desiring no onion or garlic for a range of medical and health reasons or just taste preference hence their new Simple variety was born!
