What is the inspiration behind Enlighten Me?
Enlighten Me was founded by Dr. Angela Kwong, a GP running a medically supervised weight loss program. She saw patients on weight loss medications struggle with reduced appetite, digestive side effects, and difficulty meeting their nutritional needs, especially protein. Whole foods were often hard to digest due to delayed gastric emptying, and most commercial shakes were filled with artificial sweeteners and fillers that only worsened symptoms like bloating and discomfort.
Driven by her patients’ needs and guided by her medical and nutritional expertise, Dr. Angela developed a clean, easy-to-digest shake, high in protein, low in carbohydrates, and naturally sweetened. What began as a targeted solution for her patients quickly gained wider appeal.
