Gourmend Foods was inspired by founder Ketan Vakil’s personal journey with chronic digestive issues that began in his teens. After years of discomfort, he discovered the low FODMAP diet—which finally brought relief—but quickly realized how limited and uninspiring the food options were. Most products labeled “gut friendly” were either bland, filled with additives, or made with poor-quality ingredients.
Ketan launched Gourmend to solve that problem: to create clean-label, organic pantry staples that didn’t force people to choose between feeling good and eating well. Rather than simply removing high FODMAP ingredients, Gourmend looks to nature for flavorful alternatives—like garlic scapes, scallion tops, chives, oyster mushrooms and more—that deliver rich, layered taste without digestive side effects.
