Low FODMAP Chilli Oil and Feta Eggs

This FODMAP-friendly Chilli Oil and Feta Eggs are a flavourful way to spoil Mom in bed. Perfect for moms who can tolerate chilli without experiencing symptoms.

Although chillis are low FODMAP, they can still trigger symptoms for some people.
This is because Capsaicin, found in chilli can irritate the lining of your gut.
Some people can handle the minor irritation just fine but for more sensitive tummies chilli can trigger symptoms.
So, this recipe is suitable for people who can tolerate chilli without experiencing symptoms.

Low FODMAP Chilli Oil and Feta Eggs

Cook Time: 2-5 minutes 
Serves:
1

Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp cooking olive oil
  • ¼ tsp chilli flakes
  • 1 tbsp crumbled feta cheese
  • 1 tbsp chopped green onions (optional)
  • Salt and ground pepper to taste
  • Gluten free or sourdough bread (optional) (e.g. Alpine bread)

Method:

  1. 1. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add chilli flakes and swirl for a few seconds to release the flavor. Optionally, stir in spring onions.
    2. Crack the eggs into the pan and fry them according to your preference.
    3. If you prefer your eggs flipped, do so now. Then, crumble feta cheese on top of the eggs. Serve immediately.
    4. Optionally, toast 1-2 slices of bread in the same pan using the residual oil for extra flavor.
    5. Serve the eggs on top of your toast and enjoy!
