Introducing The UK’s Largest Range of FODMAP Friendly Certified Cooking Sauces – Slightly Different Foods

Whether you’ve got a good grip on the low FODMAP diet or you’ve just started following it, you’ll know that Asian stir fry sauces, Indian curry pastes, classic Italian and Mexican flavours are often filled with onion or garlic and can be an undoing. Making low FODMAP sauces from scratch can be a time consuming task when you’ve got hungry mouths to feed. Thanks to Slightly Different‘s  stir in sauces, you can cook a delicious flavoursome low FODMAP meal for the whole household.

At Slightly Different, their mission is to provide a range of high quality products that are free from allergens, artificial preservatives, flavourings/colourings, vegetarian/vegan friendly and low FODMAP. Four Versatile Ways To Use Slightly Different Sauces

1. Cooking Curries

Start by heating a large fry pan with 1 tsp vegetable or olive oil and stir fry your fresh protein such as tofu, chicken, seafood, pork, beef or firm vegetables until slightly brown.

Add the Slightly Different Sauce (such as the Tikka Masala, Tropical Curry or Thai Red Curry) and heat for 5-8 minutes or until cooked through for a stir fry. For a curry, add a little water and simmer for 5-8 minutes then any softer leafy vegetables and simmer for a further 2 minutes or until just cooked.

2. Cooking Italian

Lightly stir fry your fresh protein such as tofu, chicken, seafood, pork, beef or firm vegetables until slightly brown with 1 tsp vegetable or olive oil. Add the Slightly Different sauce (Smooth Bolognese, Arrabbiata or Tomato & Basil). For a spaghetti bolognese, add a tin of chopped tomatoes and 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar and simmer on a medium heat for 15 minutes.

Delicious to serve with rice, low FODMAP pasta or low FODMAP roti bread.

3. Marinating Meats

Simply pour the Slightly Different sauce of your choice over tofu, chicken, white fish, salmon or beef and leave to marinate for at least one hour (or overnight for best flavour absorption). Either bake in the oven covered in all the marinade at 170C for 10-15 minutes (best for fish or chicken). Alternatively, grill your marinated protein on a barbeque or grill pan or pan-fry oven medium heat for approximately 10 minutes or until cooked through.

Great for serving in low FODMAP tortilla wraps, cutting up and topping on your favourite salad or with a rice of cooked rice.

Our favourites for marinating are the Red Pepper & Chilli and Sweet & Sour sauces.

4. Use Sauces As Is For Dipping

Try the Slightly Different Sweet Chilli Sauce poured over a small bowl of lactose free cream

cheese as a delicious dip with rice crackers and vegetable sticks or low FODMAP fritters. For a delicious Mexican inspired dip, try the Medium Chilli Sauce

as a dip with corn chips, a sauce on tacos or topping for nachos.

Be sure to add these new FODMAP Friendly stir in sauces to your next meal for some extra flavour that will leave your gut smiling.
